The conversation regarding the lack of arts education in the U.S. school system has been a relevant topic for years — and unfortunately it is still an issue… particularly for public school students. Well last week I covered the 2016 Ailey Spirit Gala, which was hosted by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, to celebrate today’s youth that are involved in the arts and culture. The event was held at the David H. Koch Theatre in New York City, New York.

On the red carpet I caught up with ABC’s Black∗ish star Anthony Anderson, TV One’s Roland Martin, The Daily Show’s Jessica Williams, and soul artist Jon Batiste. From Anthony’s take of this season’s police brutality episode on Black∗ish, to Jessica adjusting to The Daily Show’s new host Trevor Noah, who stepped in for predecessor Jon Stewart, there’s sure to be something entertaining in this interview.

Take a look at the full interview below. Be sure to leave a comment (good or not so good), like, and share with a friend.
